Strict quality tests
Before its delivery to the customer or institutions such as schools, universities or nursing homes, the family tableware by ORNAMIN has to undergo a number of strict quality tests. All products are put through their paces to ensure that they fulfil the high quality standards as well as their functions as everyday aids.
ORNAMIN tableware compared to porcelain: the free-fall test
Everyone knows what happens to common porcelain tableware when it falls from the table: It breaks in a lot of large and little shards. This is not just annoying but can be quiet dangerous while picking up the sharp-edged pieces.
The free-fall test
In the free-fall test the tableware is dropped from a height of 75 cm (equal to the height of a kitchen table) on stone floor. Diverse mugs and cups, the tableware series in classic style as well as the children’s tableware by ORNAMIN are tested.
The stress test
During the stress test the family tableware has to withstand punctually very high pressure. The flat plate of the elegant series and the trays are tested.
ORNAMIN tableware compared to porcelain: the edge-drop test
In the edge-drop test the tableware and common porcelain are dropped from a height of 80 cm on a steel board. The tableware is guided by a rail to ensure that they touch the ground with the edge.
The edge-drop test
In this test the tableware and commercially available porcelain are dropped from a height of 80 cm on a steel board. They are guided by a rail to ensure that they touch the ground with the edge. Tested are plates of the classic and country style tableware.
ORNAMIN tableware compared to porcelain: the ball-drop test
Whether when filling the dishwasher or preparing lunch: tableware needs to withstand a lot. These point loads are simulated with the ball-drop test in a laboratory by our quality management.
The ball-drop test
In the ball-drop test the tableware needs to withstand very high pressure on a defined point. A metal weight weighing 600 g is dropped from a height of 20 cm on the tableware. This is equal to a weight of about 6 kg when hitting the tableware. The plate in elegant design is tested.
