Problems with starch adherence on plates and bowls affect all tableware materials, whether it is porcelain, hard glass or plastic tableware.
Especially meals with cereals and potatoes contain a lot of starch which is difficult to dissolve with water. The problem of starch adherence is particularly common when cleaning dishes in canteen kitchens of the communal catering. One reason for this is the preheating of the plates at high temperatures, on which the starch can settle well (melamine plates do not have to be preheated!). After the meal, the dirty plates often remain in the dishwasher for a long time before being put into the dishwasher. In the commercial dishwasher, there is also only a brief contact between the dishes and the rinsing water. Even if the plates look clean afterwards, traces of starch often remain on the surface of the dishes.
In general the following applies: Please contact the respective dishwasher manufacturer or supplier in case of starch adhesions.
